Localization of stator/rotor lamination stamping for the Lada Iskra vehicle

NordPress Engineering engineers were tasked with launching large-scale serial production of stator/rotor laminations from scratch for the following vehicle models: Lada Iskra, Lada Vesta, and Lada Azimut.

The Customer requires stamping of this product in quantities of 1 to 3 million parts per month. In addition to the large production volume, we faced another challenge during the implementation of this project — stringent requirements for the product itself, where the minimum tolerance is +/- 10 microns.

To ensure high precision of the stamped product and a large monthly output of parts, we decided to manufacture stamping dies for progressive stamping from carbide.

The accuracy/tolerance for manufacturing dies for progressive carbide stamping is 3–5 microns. The hardness of the stamping dies ranges from 90 to 95 HRC.

NordPress Engineering engineers were able to complete this project within 1 year and launched large-scale serial production of stator/rotor laminations in St. Petersburg, where approximately 2–3 million stator laminations are stamped every month for the needs of the domestic automotive industry.
