NordPress Engineering provided engineering and technical support for the localization project of Sollers ST9 and ST8 / ST6 vehicles, which are based on the JAC T9 and JAC T8/T6 platforms.
At the first stage, we carried out work to identify issues and add improvements to the stamping process simulations and production technology (PROCESS REVIEW).
Over several months of work, we identified and corrected more than 400 general comments and about 200 critical comments in the die design (DDR).
NordPress Engineering engineers achieved cost optimization by combining the stamping of the following parts into a single flow (single die):
- Inner and outer hood panels.
- Inner and outer door panels.
- Combining floor panels into a single flow for the Sollers ST9 and SUV models.
Additional cost optimization (savings) was achieved by reducing the number of operations for the rear floor from 4 dies to 3.
Over several months, our engineers worked at the die manufacturer's facility (JAC) in China, fitting and refining the stamping dies.
We carried out a static check (die disassembly into parts on the "floor") and a dynamic check (die testing on the press), as well as a "spotting" check of the working surface of the drawing stage (Spotting).
